Fire Shock With Me: S1E04
“Visions, Lies, and Llamas”
In July of 2024, Cinema Shock began a series of episodes deep diving into the filmography of David Lynch. But no discussion of Lynch’s work and career is complete without including his most widely seen project, Twin Peaks, the TV series he co-created with Mark Frost, which originally aired on ABC for two seasons in 1990 and 1991.
In this bonus series, available exclusively to members of CinemaShock+, we’re watching through Twin Peaks in its entirety. All three hosts have varying degrees of exposure to the series, with Todd Davis being a first-time viewer. So this series is designed not only for seasoned Twin Peaks fans, but also for those watching for the first time. There will be no spoilers for future episodes — only for the ones being discussed.
In this episode of Fire Shock With Me, we’re tackling four packed episodes of Twin Peaks Season 1: “Rest in Pain,” “The One-Armed Man,” “Cooper’s Dreams,” and “Realization Time.” It’s a whirlwind of funerals, dream logic, wig-based espionage, and suspicious Canadians. Cooper defends Albert, Donna and James play junior detectives with Maddy’s help, and the presence of BOB begins to cast a longer and more terrifying shadow. Plus, Sarah Palmer has a vision, Ronette wakes up, and we get our first real taste of the Bookhouse Boys in action. Also: shoutout to that very patient llama.
