Fire Shock With Me S1E02
Traces to Nowhere
In July of 2024, Cinema Shock began a series of episodes deep diving into the filmography of David Lynch. But no discussion of Lynch’s work and career is complete without including his most widely seen project, Twin Peaks, the TV series he co-created with Mark Frost, which originally aired on ABC for two seasons in 1990 and 1991.
In this bonus series, available exclusively to members of CinemaShock+, we’re watching through Twin Peaks in its entirety. All three hosts have varying degrees of exposure to the series, with Todd Davis being a first-time viewer. So this series is designed not only for seasoned Twin Peaks fans, but also for those watching for the first time. There will be no spoilers for future episodes — only for the ones being discussed.
In this episode of Fire Shock With Me, we discuss Twin Peaks Season 1, Episode 2: “Traces to Nowhere.” The investigation into Laura Palmer’s death expands as Cooper begins to map out the emotional terrain of Twin Peaks — a town where nearly every friendly smile hides something broken, repressed, or dangerous. Donna suspects her mother knows more than she’s letting on. Bobby howls. James broods. And Dr. Jacoby… well, let’s just say we’re already worried about Dr. Jacoby.
