Fire Shock With Me: S2E02
“Just You and… BOB”
In July of 2024, Cinema Shock began a series of episodes deep diving into the filmography of David Lynch. But no discussion of Lynch’s work and career is complete without including his most widely seen project, Twin Peaks, the TV series he co-created with Mark Frost, which originally aired on ABC for two seasons in 1990 and 1991.
In this bonus series, available exclusively to members of CinemaShock+, we’re watching through Twin Peaks in its entirety. All three hosts have varying degrees of exposure to the series, with Todd Davis being a first-time viewer. So this series is designed not only for seasoned Twin Peaks fans, but also for those watching for the first time. There will be no spoilers for future episodes — only for the ones being discussed.
In this episode of Fire Shock With Me, we cover “Coma,” the second episode of Season 2. It’s a moody, unsettling hour filled with cryptic messages and escalating dread. Cooper finally gives Harry the full rundown on his dream, Ronette reacts violently to the one-armed man, and the names Mike and BOB are finally spoken aloud. We meet Harold Smith, Major Briggs waxes poetic about dreams, and Maddie sees something no one should ever have to see. Also, Audrey Horne weaponizes a cherry stem in ways we’re still recovering from.
