Fire Shock With Me: S2E03
“Laura Had Another Diary?!”
In July of 2024, Cinema Shock began a series of episodes deep diving into the filmography of David Lynch. But no discussion of Lynch’s work and career is complete without including his most widely seen project, Twin Peaks, the TV series he co-created with Mark Frost, which originally aired on ABC for two seasons in 1990 and 1991.
In this bonus series, available exclusively to members of CinemaShock+, we’re watching through Twin Peaks in its entirety. All three hosts have varying degrees of exposure to the series, with Todd Davis being a first-time viewer. So this series is designed not only for seasoned Twin Peaks fans, but also for those watching for the first time. There will be no spoilers for future episodes — only for the ones being discussed.
In this episode of Fire Shock With Me, we cover two episodes of Twin Peaks Season 2: “The Man Behind the Glass” and “Laura’s Secret Diary.” Donna enters her full teen noir era, teaming up with Harold Smith — a shut-in who just happens to be holding onto an explosive second diary Laura kept hidden from everyone. Ronette has a terrifying reaction to BOB’s presence, and Leland makes a major identification that deepens the supernatural mystery. Meanwhile, Audrey’s still trapped at One Eyed Jack’s, Nadine wakes up with superhuman strength, and James… continues to be James.
